At the People's Political Meeting six flagpoles bear reversed cross flags. Inverted flags are usually an international signal of an emergency situation, but here the flags also become a protest against nationalism and a call for humanism.

Native, Exotic, Normal / State of Emergency is part of the solo show, Native, Exotic, Normal, Den Frie Centre of Contemporary Art, Copenhagen, Denmark. The exhibition includes two projects in public space - at Roskilde Festival and the People's Political Meeting. The two projects are tied together using the same color palette as the exhibition, and flags as symbols of territorial demarcations.
